The relative advantage of using graphic tools is that they are visual aids. Not every student learns in the same way and a lot of students will do well with a visual aid. They will understand better if they can see what they are learning. Graphic tools will help with this. Visual aids will help enforce the concepts you are trying to teach as a teacher.

Describe two advantages of required school and district policies such as policies regarding Internet use, legal and ethical use, and equity.
Your Answer:
Policies regarding internet use blocking the students from looking at inappropriate websites. Things from the internet that should not be allowed in schools can now be blocked. Other policies inforce that there should be equal treatment to all students.

Name two advances or developments that have occurred in technology since the 1970s that you feel have had significant effects on education, and explain why these technological changes had such effects.

There have been many developments that have occured in technology since the 1970's. They have all benefited the classroom in some way or another. In my opinion of the most important advances is the computers in classrooms and schools. There are many different types of students in schools today. Students are all learning at different rates today. With computers in the classrooms we as teachers can have students who need extra help get on the computers or students who are advanced get on the computers. There are so many software programs out there to benefit every student. Another form on technology that has expanded is the internet. Everything is on the internet these days. Students can go to the internet for any question that they have and can research everything. Any piece of material is easily available to all students through technology.
Discuss one emerging trend in technology and the effect it could have on classrooms and schools.

One emerging trend that would have an effect on classrooms and schools would be the wireless world. This is allowing students to access the internet from anywhere. Wireless is now everywhere. It is from classrooms to fast food restaurants. It is helping students and people everywhere get information at any time.

Developing an electronic portfolio would be great for future jobs. It would allow future employers to see what a teacher can do with technology. A lot of technology background can only benefit the students so this may give the teacher better opportunities to be hired.

Heyy everyone! My name is Nicole Toumey. I am a Junior here at Lock Haven. I am an Elementary Education major and trying to decide if I want to do a reading minor. I am from Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. I have a younger sister named Kaitlin and a younger brother named Michael. I have two dogs which I love. At home I have a little dog named Camo and here at school I have a lab named Holli. In high school I was a cheerleader and I also cheered my freshmen year here for Lock Haven. I don't do cheerleading anymore but find other things to keep myself busy. I love being with my family and friends, tanning, being at the beach, and running occasionally.
I went to a rather small Catholic high school so our technology in school was somewhat lacking. We did have a small computer lab where every student atleast once had to take a computer class as a minor class. This class basically just went over Microsoft Office material, such as excel and powerpoint. I remember making a newspaper page in this class but I believe this was the most indebt assignment we did. I feel that I have a good background with powerpoint but probably could not do much else.
I really hope this class helps me gain a better understanding of how to use technology more in my classroom. I want to make all my lessons very interesting and with technology there are endless possibilities. I'm looking forward to all there is to learn in this class and hope to get a lot of new information out of it.
